Purple polar bears and pink penguins Cover Image Book Book

Purple polar bears and pink penguins / written and illustrated by G. Lubbers.

Lubbers, G., (author.).

Summary:

Have you ever seen a tiger with blue stripes? What about green flamingos? How about purple polar bears or pink penguins? There seems to be a little problem with some of the animals at the zoo. The zookeeper isn't very happy that his animal friends have been affected by the trash that has been thrown around the zoo. The friendly animal characters help their friends as they show us how easy it is to pick up trash and recycle, and they also have some fun while cleaning up their zoo home. Some of them get into some mischief as the cute, red panda that steps into the paint, while the little squirrel monkey tries to paint the stripes back onto the tiger. The Chimpanzees show us how to reuse old tires for a flower garden, and play while gliding on a tire swing. The expressive illustrations along with the endearing rhyme of this hand-illustrated, picture book help to convey a message of protecting wildlife and the environment, and also the importance of helping our family and friends, and our community.
